Tube for EV Battery cooling

Tubes are a common component in the cooling systems of electric vehicle (EV) batteries. These tubes are typically made of a high-performance, heat-resistant material, such as stainless steel or copper, and are used to carry a coolant liquid or refrigerant through the battery pack to remove excess heat. Bond3D developed and 3D printed cooling tube made of PEEK polymers.

In an EV, the battery pack is a major source of heat, as it generates a significant amount of energy when charging and discharging. To ensure that the battery operates at a safe and optimal temperature, it is important to have a reliable and efficient cooling system in place. Tubes are an important part of this system, as they provide a path for the coolant to flow through the battery pack, transferring heat away from the cells and into the coolant.

There are several different designs for EV battery cooling systems, and the specific design and layout of the tubes will depend on the make and model of the vehicle. In some cases, the tubes may be arranged in a serpentine pattern, with the coolant flowing through a series of tubes that are tightly packed together within the battery pack. In other cases, the tubes may be arranged in a more diffuse pattern, with the coolant flowing through a larger volume of space within the battery pack.

Regardless of the specific design, the goal of the cooling system is to remove excess heat from the battery pack and maintain the cells at a safe and optimal operating temperature. By using tubes to carry the coolant through the battery pack, the cooling system is able to efficiently transfer heat away from the cells and keep the battery running smoothly.
